About the Pink Owl Project...
In October we get inundated with pink ribbons and lots of good intentions about "awareness," yet many people don't understand what life is like for a survivor, especially for a young survivor. What is it like to be diagnosed with young children? How do you view your sexuality now? What was it like losing your hair?
A group of young survivors from the Kalamazoo area got together in October of 2012 to give a realistic and encouraging look at life as a breast cancer survivor as a younger woman through photography and short essays about their experiences. We are happy to announce that the second Pink Owl Project will happen at Bell's Brewery on October 1st, 2014! This showing will be revamped and reloaded with more pictures and more stories of strength and survivorship.
Join us at Bell's for a night of fun (and a few tears) as we celebrate life and strength in the face of adversity, and we do our best to support research to end this horrible disease.
